Mixing and mastering of our fourth album is done!
More information will be revealed later
Jussi informed us today that rest of the keyboards have been recorded for the album! It seems only what is left is mixing.
Today we got all vocals recorded for the upcoming album.
The next thing we will do is to concentrate to record keyboards.
The full circle has been now formed as our friend Tapio Hautalampi joins Ordog as a drummer.
This means we are starting to practice for the gigs in near future. Nevertheless we are at the moment focusing to record our fourth album ready.
Ilkka Kalliainen has joined Ordog as permanent bass player. We have worked with him many years and he was obvious choice to play in our line-up. This also allows, that we are going to make a lot more gigs in future.
The recording of fourth album is advancing and at the moment we are recording second guitars. Soon we will begin recording of Keyboards.
We are beginning the recording of the new album in near weeks of this January. New album contains seven songs.
Its been rough months to convert the songs into what we wanted. More information will be coming later!
New album "TRAIL FOR THE BROKEN" out 21.3.2014 The album will be released digitally worldwide by Violent Journey Records.
Ordog will also play a gig at 26.04.2014 in club Grande, Rovaniemi with bands “Abbot” and “Serotonin Syndrome”. Showtime is 22.30 and tickets 7e!. Be there!
We are creating new songs and writing lyrics. The new tunes sounds more brutal and bereft than ever before.
The songs are more reflecting our older material. At this moment it's still hard to say
anything else, but we are sure it wont be no "sunday school" -material. Also we made some minor updates to Reverbnation and Myspace page.
We have lot to say, but we try to keep it short.
Ordog will play two gigs here in Finland:
23.1.2015 Oulu, Hevimesta w/ Umeo ja Serotonin Syndrome
24.1.2015 Rovaniemi, Grande w/ Umeo ja Serotonin Syndrome
Our live line up is changed a bit for these two gigs.Valtteri is behind the battery, Ilkka in the guitar and we welcome Olli-Pekka to play bass! This also means that Olli-Pekka shall join our line-up as a permanent member as a bass player and Ilkka is taking a place as a second guitarist.
We also are proud to announce that we signed a deal with finnish promotional service: Metal Asylum Promotions!
Last but not least. The demoing phase is over. We are aiming to begin the recording of the fifth album in the next year. As we stated before the album reflects more visions from our older material and the new tunes sounds more brutal and bereft than ever before.
Aleksi Martikainen: Vocals
Valtteri Isometsä: Guitar
Tapio Hautalampi: Drums
Jussi Harju: Keyboard
Ilkka Kalliainen: Bass
The band was formed in early 2005 by Aleksi and Valtteri whom had discussed earlier about their interest to play doom-metal. Slowly all the pieces found their place and in the year 2006 demo "I" was released. The feedback they received about the demo was encouraging and shortly after that demo "II" was released. These two demo's convinced the owner of Ostra-records Julien to sign the band on it's ranks and in the summer of 2006 recordings of the debut album "The crow and the storm" begun. The recordings were finished quite fast and at the 22th of december 2006 the album was released. During this time Jussi also joined the band as a permanent keyboardplayer. In march 2007 Ordog started to record "III" promo which was to be released in june 2007. The promo got some good reviews and very positive feedback from those who had obtained it. The promo was also meant to be as a transition between the old more traditional funeral-doom sound and the new more experimental funeral/death/doom sound.
During spring 2007 the recordings for the new album begun. The album was later named as "Life is too short for learning to live" At this point Ordog decided to start playing live and recruited two long term friends Kimmo And Risto in their live line-up. After one gig Valtteri needed to start concentrating on mixing the upcoming album and this meant that there would be no more gigs atleast for a while.
The year 2008 was a year of change for Ordog. At first they signed a deal with the finnish record label "Violent journey records" which published the "Life is too short for learning to live" album in 20th of august. Shortly after the album was released Ordog had an interesting offer from a promotor from russia to play two gigs with throes of dawn at Moscow and St.petersburg. At this point it became clear that we had to sack Risto and Kimmo from our live line-up due to various reasons. Luckily replacements were found with a few phonecalls and Ordog was able to start rehearsing again with Opa on the bass and Jani on the drums.
The gigs took place in march of 2009 and in retrospect i have to say that they were one of the best gigs we've ever played in our lives. In the summer of 2009 Ordog started to record their upcoming remorse album. Most of the songs were ready in the year 2008 but we decided to let them "live" in our minds before actually recording them. After countless hours and different recording sessions we were able to finalize the album in february 2010. We also played a gig in club lepakkomies in Helsinki at november 2009. At this point we are waiting for the cover-art and other things related before our next album is released.
